BBC.- France has approved a digital services tax despite threats of retaliation by the US, which argues that it unfairly targets American tech giants. The 3% tax will be levied on sales generated in France by multinational firms like Google and Facebook.
BBC.- The US labour market boomed in June, creating many more jobs than expected, according to the latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It showed that 224,000 jobs were created in June, many more than the 160,000 that economists had forecast.

BBC.- US President Donald Trump has announced tariffs on all goods coming from Mexico, demanding the country curb illegal immigration into the US. In a tweet, Mr Trump said that from 10 June a 5% tariff would be imposed and would slowly rise “until the illegal immigration problem is remedied”.
BBC.- China has been signalling that it may restrict the export of rare earth minerals to the United States as the trade conflict between the two countries escalates.
